A bill has been filed in the Indiana House to repeal the state’s death penalty.
Republicans filed the bill after the execution last week of Joseph Corcoran, who was the first inmate put to death in 15 years in Indiana.
Deputy Public Defender Joanna Green says the bill is the first she’s ever seen from Indiana Republicans to repeal the death penalty in the state and she is hopeful it will have traction.
Executions had been on hold for several years because the state ran out of the drug cocktail used to perform lethal injections.

Justice in the USA is supposed to be swift and sure. Trying to abolish the death penalty for the horrible crimes committed in this state is a GIANT STUPID MISTAKE. Once the inevitable and endless appeals are finally done. The sentence should be carried out in 15 days or less.
