UPDATE: Jacob Pittman, 24, turned himself in to police on Monday evening, Jan. 6, and is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
ORIGINAL STORY: Two of the four suspects charged in a July 2024 shooting in South Bend are now in custody.
Termel Reid, 19, turned himself in this morning and is now being held at the St. Joseph County Jail. One of the other suspects, 18-year-old Giovanni Tuggle, was already in jail for a separate offense once charges were filed last week for the July 28 shooting on Bissell Street that wounded four people.
Deshon Gates, 24, and Jacob Pittman, 24, are not yet in police custody and warrants have been issued for their arrest. They are both charged with Possession of a Machine Gun and Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon. Reid and Tuggle were charged with Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon.
