The 2025 Indiana Legislative Session began on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Lawmakers will need to pass a new budget for the next two years. They will also consider bills on several key issues affecting Hoosiers, including a measure that would expand a ban on transgender student athletes in K through 12 sports to public universities in Indiana.
In the state Senate, a bill is looking to ban on kids under the age of 16 from creating social media accounts without the verified permission of a parent.
There is also the issue of giving Hoosiers some relief on property taxes.
