Vice chair of St. Joseph County Republican Party charged with battery

The vice chair of St. Joseph County’s Republican Party is due in court, next month, after being charged with misdemeanor battery.
It happened during a GOP event back in November.
According to court documents, Republican Party Vice Chair Joe Layne approached County Councilman Dan Schaetzle, who refused to hand over a microphone after his time speaking had ended.
Layne pushed Schaetzle and took the microphone from him.
Layne is also to have no contact with Schaetzle.
