The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a medical emergency at the jail.

It was shortly before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, when staff found three adult men unconscious in a housing ward with no visible injuries.

Jail medical staff and officers provided aid, and medics transported the men to the hospital.

They were treated and then later returned to the jail.

Detectives are still working to determine what exactly happened.
