The Better Business Bureau is warning of yet another phone scam happening in the area.
They say scammers are calling and leaving a voicemail, telling you that they need more information to complete your loan application.
Hoping that you will call back panicking about the loan you did not apply for, they plan to collect your personal information in an attempt to steal your identity. The BBB says to be alert to phishing attempts and be careful with your personal information.
Be sure to shred documents containing personal information, and secure personal documents at home.
They also say to watch your bank accounts for unexplained withdrawals and charges as well as your credit reports for unauthorized inquiries.
If you come across a scammer, report it on the BBB Scam Tracker
