A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, for all of northern Indiana.
Saturday starts out dry, but another round of snow/sleet/freezing rain arrives this afternoon and evening. Forecast models have not been in good agreement and very inconsistent on how far north the mix of precipitation reaches. As of now, it appears ice accumulation looks very light for most (a few hundredths of an inch for far northern Indiana, some areas closer to Fort Wayne could see closer to a tenth of an inch of ice). Snow accumulations also look very light, less than an inch for most. Even though a thin glaze is expected, roads will likely get slick this afternoon and evening.
Highs today will reach around freezing.
As we enter the overnight hours, light lake effect snow showers develop. Lows tonight fall to the mid-20s.
Sunday will be chilly with a high near 30, along with some light lake effect flurries.
A return to colder temperatures looks likely for next week with high temperatures in the mid to upper 20s.
