Indiana State University sued for blocking pride festival

Indiana State University is being sued by the ACLU for not allowing the local Pride organization to host it’s annual Pride Fest on the Terre Haute campus.
In the lawsuit, the ACLU of Indiana claims the university is violating the First Amendment rights of The Pride Center of Terre Haute.
In the past two years, Indiana State has allowed the organization to host Pride Fest on campus with no issues. But, after inquiring about hosting the event on campus again this year after last year’s event, the Pride Center says they have not heard back from the university.
“Here is a public space where First Amendment activities can occur and the university is saying, ‘you can’t have your First Amendment activity here’,” said Ken Falk, legal director for the ACLU of Indiana, on WISH-TV. “It’s very disconcerting when the government closes off a public space to First Amendment activities and that’s exactly what we think is going on here.”
ISU has no commented on the situation.
In December, the Human Rights Commission for the City of Terre Haute announced that Pride Fest would be held at a park one mile away from the university. The lawsuit says that the decision was made without consultation with the Pride Center.

The American Communist Litigation Unit is a trashbag organization and should be eliminated. Hopefully wiping out the USAID grift will cripple the ACLUs funding and they will go away.
