Manufacturers of recreational vehicles in Elkhart County are preparing for higher prices for much of what they use.
President Trump has issued a 25-percent tariff on all aluminum and steel imports, and that will be felt by Gulf Stream Coach and other northern Indiana companies.
Gulf Stream Coach president Phil Savari says the industry had been projecting 12-to-50-percent growth before the tariffs were announced, including what’s been paused on Canadian and Mexican imports.
He says the purchase price for customers will go up between two-and-four-percent as a result.
