There’s a new proposal to put a park on county-owned land in Granger.

It’s the same land proposed for a county park and highway garage a few years ago before the garage location was moved.

The park could be built on 115 acres at Beech and Anderson Roads using around $5 million in county parks bonds. Some amenities may include walking trails, shelters and playgrounds.

St. Joseph County Parks Executive Director Steve Slauson says if all approvals are given, the park could open in late 2026.
