A 17-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash at the intersection of State Road 15 and County Road 26, with the other driver arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of cannabis.
It happened around 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
According to Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators, Jodi Nagle, 54, of Goshen, was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang westbound from a private driveway when she entered the intersection and failed to yield to an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle, a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja operated by Amelia Sneddon, 17, also of Goshen, struck the back driver’s side of the Mustang.
Sneddon was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials confirmed she was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Nagle was not hurt. Following an investigation, authorities determined she was under the influence of cannabis at the time of the crash. She was taken into custody and charged with Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death under the influence of cannabis.

When you’re holding handlebars, assume everyone with a steering wheel is out to kill you. 🙁

My condolences to the family.
