Robbery suspect receives additional charge

One of two men accused of a bank robbery in March last year has received an additional charge.

Melvin Levy, in addition to robbery and resisting law enforcement, is also being charged with being a habitual criminal offender.

Levy, along with Tyrone Hunt, were accused of a robbery at Fifth Third Bank where they reportedly demanded the workers withdraw nearly $8,000 in cash. Hunt allegedly told police he and Levy were responsible for the robbery, but Levy denied involvement.

Levy’s jury trial has been continued from April 7 to June 16.
