Three people accused of an armed robbery have been sentenced.

The robbery happened on Middlebury Street in Elkhart in September of 2024. Court documents say two victims reported the robbery to police after being approached in their vehicle by two masked men displaying guns.

The Goshen News says one suspect allegedly threatened the driver with a knife and pistol, while another took the passenger’s wallet.

Police later searched a nearby apartment, arresting two 17-year-olds, Issac Duckworth and Kaleb Goodwin, as well as Emarri Redmond, Carrie Layton, and Alora Layton, all from Elkhart. Redmond and Carrie and Alora Layton have been sentenced by plea agreement, each to a total of 10 years.
