A man accused of robbing a gas station in Elkhart has pleaded guilty.

Gerson Portillo Valencia is accused of holding up a Rebel gas station in February when he told the cashier to give him all the money and threatened her with a gun.

Officers used the Flock system to locate the suspect’s vehicle on Benham Avenue. Officers found the vehicle and could see the gun on the center console.

The Goshen News says Portillo Valencia was found with the items the cashier said the suspect had taken. He reportedly pleaded guilty to armed robbery.

His sentencing is scheduled for April 10.
