State police conduct statewide Toll Road patrol, make multiple arrests

Troopers with the Indiana State Police Toll Road Post carried out a “state line to state line” enforcement operation on Saturday, March 29, targeting the full length of the Indiana Toll Road from the Illinois to the Ohio border. The patrol aimed to enhance safety by cracking down on aggressive and impaired drivers.
The high-visibility patrol began at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, and continued until 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 30.
During the course of the operation, troopers issued 60 traffic citations and 60 warnings. Authorities also made two arrests for operating while intoxicated, 12 misdemeanor arrests, and two drug-related arrests.
Among the notable incidents, police seized 3.5 pounds of marijuana edibles and apprehended one driver for reckless driving after allegedly clocking 103 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.
