On Monday, the Michigan High School Athletic Association, or MHSAA, announced the school classifications for the 2025-2026 school year and the related division changes.
Schools in the state are divided into four categories: Bigger schools in Class A, with more than 788 students, all the way to Class D schools with 170 students or fewer.
WSJM reports that Niles will move up to Class A in the next school year, which also puts the Vikings in the more difficult Division 3 that includes St. Joseph and Lakeshore.
