The Indiana State Police Bremen Post conducted a pair of targeted “Wolfpack Patrols” over the weekend, focusing efforts on crime and traffic enforcement in Elkhart and South Bend.
Friday night’s patrol was concentrated in Elkhart, while Saturday’s operation centered in South Bend. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to boost proactive policing and criminal interdiction in local communities.
According to state police, the two-night operation resulted in:
30 tickets issued
70 warnings
2 arrests for operating while intoxicated (OWI)
26 drug-related arrests
4 felony arrests
36 misdemeanor arrests
A total of five individuals were booked into jail, while charges against 16 others will be submitted to the local prosecutor’s office.
The Indiana State Police Toll Road Post conducted a targeted enforcement patrol along the Indiana Toll Road on Friday, April 18, focusing on Porter, LaPorte, Elkhart, and LaGrange counties.
The daytime patrol aimed to address speeding and other traffic-related offenses.
As a result, troopers issued 34 citations and 60 warnings. Additionally, five individuals were arrested on drug-related charges. Two motorists were cited for reckless driving after being clocked at 106 and 104 miles per hour, respectively, in a 70-mph zone.
The patrol is part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety and deter criminal activity on Indiana’s major roadways.
State police say more Wolfpack Patrols are planned as part of their commitment to public safety.
