Five juveniles injured in Cass County crash

Five juveniles were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Cass County.
The collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, along M-51 near Crystal Springs Street, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say a 41-year-old Niles man was driving northbound on M-51 when he rear-ended another northbound vehicle driven by 63-year-old Brian Bowditch of Portage.
Hanson’s vehicle was carrying his passenger, a 35-year-old Niles woman, along with five juveniles who were not properly restrained. All six occupants were transported to Memorial Hospital and Corewell Health in Niles for treatment.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately released. The crash remains under investigation.
