A collision at the intersection of State Road 19 and County Road 28 sent five people to the hospital.

The crash happened around 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, when a Nissan Rogue, traveling east on County Road 28, stopped at the intersection and then proceeded into the path of a southbound Honda Accord on State Road 19. The Accord, which did not have a stop sign, struck the driver’s side of the Rogue.

The driver of the Rogue and three passengers — including a 23-year-old woman, a 2-year-old boy, and a 1-year-old girl — suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Elkhart General Hospital. Injuries included complaints of shoulder, neck, and hip pain, as well as a bump to the head for the youngest passenger. The driver of the Accord was also transported to the hospital with hip pain.

The driver of the Rogue was cited for failure to yield at an intersection and driving without insurance.
