An Elkhart man was sentenced to a full year in jail this week.

Leader Publications says 43-year-old Benjamin Kamp of Elkhart fled from police on his motorcycle on M-60 in September, reaching speeds higher than 100 mph.

When he was finally stopped, police say meth was found in his pocket. It’s Kamp’s 14th felony conviction, joined by his 13 misdemeanor convictions.

He pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to 365 days in jail, three years of probation and $2,600 in fines and costs.
