Two men were arrested after trying to smuggle drugs into Indiana State Prison in Michigan City using a drone.
Daron Mitchell, 29, and Juwan Mitchell, 25, face charges including drug dealing, trafficking with an inmate, and resisting arrest.
WSBT reports on May 14, a drone was tracked from a wooded area near the prison. Officers found it had just landed and later caught the suspects fleeing on foot. A dropped backpack contained marijuana, over 200 drug strips, a phone, vape, cigarettes, and drone gear.
Both suspects posted bond. Similar drone smuggling attempts occurred in March and April.
