One dead, another wounded after shooting at Logan and Jefferson

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is currently investigating a shooting that has left one person dead and another wounded.

On Wednesday, May 21, just before 9:30 p.m., South Bend Police were called to the area of Jefferson Boulevard and Logan Street on the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an individual suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The individual was ultimately pronounced dead. Their name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notifications.

Officers were then alerted of another individual with an apparent gunshot wound, which expanded the investigation into Mishawaka. The second individual was transported to the hospital for treatment.

At this time, there is no ongoing threat to the area.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation by our Violent Crimes Unit.

Just more violence and crime from the usual suspects.
