The woman shot and killed at Southeast Park on Wenger Street in South Bend has been identified.

Police found Kristina Ortiz, 37, suffering from at least one gunshot wound on Saturday night, June 8. She died at the scene.

Despite many people being on scene, police have gotten very few answers. The woman’s child was present when the shooting happened, but was no physically harmed.

Police are still asking for anybody with information to give them a call, or provide a tip to Michiana Crime Stoppers.
