After former treasurer Robin Lee Laymon allegedly stole $367,000 in an embezzlement scheme, the Noble County Community Fair Corporation launched a GoFundMe campaign on May 28 seeking help to recover the funds. Court documents say Laymon used the money to buy drugs, food, and pay bills.
The fair board says the theft damaged both their finances and community trust.
To improve oversight, the board now requires two members to sign all checks and includes monthly bank statements in treasurer reports.
