The Indiana Association of the Deaf is facing a budget crisis that will result in the loss of 26 staff members, including teachers and nurses.

The association will also have to reduce its housekeeping contract, with staff members now responsible for cleaning their own areas.

The Indiana School for the Deaf, a tuition-free state public school for deaf and hard of hearing students, is experiencing a $3 million cut in funding, leading to layoffs and reduced services.
