Elderly woman killed in car/train collision in Mishawaka

An elderly woman was killed in a car-train crash in Mishawaka.

The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the railroad crossing on Spring Street near 6th Street.

Police say the woman was driving northbound when her vehicle was struck by an eastbound train.

The crossing was blocked for hours due to the investigation, which is still underway.
