Bicyclist injured in hit-and-run crash on County Road 18

A bicyclist was injured in a hit-and-run crash in the 24000 block of County Road 18.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say the collision happened just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 5 when an eastbound vehicle struck a bicyclist, also heading east, and then fled the scene.

The victim, identified as a 46-year-old Elkhart man, suffered a head laceration, bruising on his left bicep and abdomen, and scrapes to his hands and knees. He was transported to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle involved and the identity of the driver remain unknown at this time.
