A father and son from Illinois drowned in Lake Michigan over the weekend.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the 65-year-old man and his 20-year-old son were swimming off the coast of Dune Acres on Saturday afternoon, July 5, when they entered deep water.

The son began to struggle, and the father tried to help but also went under.

A good Samaritan pulled both from the water, but neither survived.
