Indiana’s job market remained robust in July, with the state’s unemployment rate holding firm at 3.6%, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The figure stands in contrast to the national unemployment rate, which saw a slight increase to 4.2% for the same period. For the fifth consecutive month, Indiana’s unemployment rate has been recorded below the national average. Several industries experienced notable growth, with significant gains in:

Private Educational & Health Services (+4,900)

Trade, Transportation & Utilities (+1,700)

Construction (+1,300)

The demand for workers across the Hoosier state remains strong. As of Aug. 1, there were 88,506 open job postings available for prospective employees throughout Indiana.
