A Niles man is set to spend 300 days in jail for destroying police property.

41-year-old John Wade pleaded guilty to malicious destruction of police property in an incident that happened in April.

Reports say he was arrested early in April and damaged the inside of a police cruiser.

Leader Publications says Wade is working to get his high school diploma and is employed and would like to go through counseling and probation.

However, due to having 14 prior convictions, the judge felt the jail sentence was appropriate and claimed he needed to start respecting the law and obeying officers.
