The St. Joseph County Regional Water and Sewer District has approved an agreement to decide who will provide utilities for Microsoft’s planned data center.
The deal pauses state proceedings and returns control to local leaders. Mishawaka, the county commissioners, the district, and private utility Granger LLC will share responsibilities and set service boundaries.
Mishawaka had sought sole control after investing in a nearby treatment plant.
County commissioners and Mishawaka officials were expected to sign the agreement on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
