Two Peoria men are being charged with auto theft after allegedly stealing a Jeep in June.

Ta’Quan Webb and Phillip Ellis reportedly stole the vehicle from an apartment on June 6 in Goshen where they used counterfeit money and took the title from the victim’s hand.

Police tracked the Jeep through the Flock camera system, locating the abandoned vehicle and later stopping a getaway car with improper registration.

Webb, Ellis and a teenager were later found riding stolen bikes, and The Goshen News says Webb allegedly admitted to using fake money for the purchase. Their trial was rescheduled for November 10.
