Hospitals in Indiana are facing a shortage of nurses, with only 72% of needed nurses currently available in the state.
The aging population and advancements in medical technology are increasing the demand for nursing care.
To address this issue, Governor Mike Braun signed a law allowing high school students to enroll in state-accredited nursing programs.
Hospitals like IU Health are offering incentives, such as a $30,000 sign-on bonus.
