The City of Elkhart is inviting residents to help shape the future of the historic Old Roundhouse site.

The Redevelopment Department is seeking federal EPA funding to clean up the contaminated property, once home to bustling railroad roundhouses and a thriving neighborhood.

Two public meetings will be held at the Tolson Center — the first on Monday, October 27 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and the second on Tuesday, October 28 from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Residents will be able to learn about the cleanup plan, share feedback and get involved in redevelopment efforts.

Public comments on the draft grant application will be accepted through November 3. Details are available at the City’s Redevelopment Office.
