Residents along South 23rd Street in South Bend say traffic from a nearby construction project is clogging their neighborhood and creating safety concerns.
The city closed Wall Street between Caesar Chavez and Ironwood Drives, this week, along with the Wall Street and Ironwood Drive intersection, as part of the ongoing Wall Street Project.
Officials directed drivers to use Mishawaka Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard via Twyckenham Drive as the official detour, but WSBT reports neightbors are frustrated because drivers are cutting through 23rd Street between Hasting Street and Mishawaka Avenue instead.
