Mishawaka Police say the fatal officer-involved shooting at Karl King Tower in South Bend, earlier this week, was justified.
Investigators say 39-year-old Christopher Chester stabbed a woman, locked his girlfriend in a bathroom, and later charged at officers with a knife and hammer.
After nearly an hour of negotiation – even bringing him McDonald’s – two South Bend officers opened fire when he rushed them.
Chester was hit eight times and later died at the hospital.
