Elkhart County man sentenced to 140 years for child molestation

An Elkhart County man has been sentenced to 140 years in prison for repeatedly molesting young children from the same family.

39-year-old Ivan B. Jennings Jr. was convicted by a jury in October on felony counts of attempted child molestation and two counts of child molestation.

Prosecutors say Jennings abused three victims, all between the ages of four and nine, from 2020 to 2021, and threatened to kill them if they told anyone.

During sentencing, the victims’ mother called him “a monster,” saying her daughters now suffer from lasting trauma.

The judge ordered the sentences served consecutively and The Goshen News says Jennings plans to appeal.
