Firefighters have been dealing with a large tire fire near Middlebury.

Crews were called just after 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, to a factory near County Road 2 and Greenfield Parkway and found a large pile of tires burning behind s plant near Entech Inc.

The blaze sent a big plume of billowing, dark smoke into the air.

As many as seven departments responded, including Middlebury, Bristol, Shipshewana, White Pigeon, and Howe.
