The FBI is now assisting Indiana State Police as investigators work to identify those responsible for five separate swatting incidents targeting state lawmakers. Authorities say they are actively tracking down the perpetrators and warn that swatting is a dangerous crime that can put both victims and responding officers at serious risk.
State Sen. Linda Rogers (R-Granger) confirmed she was a target of intimidation, but did not elaborate on exactly how. She issued this statement:
“I can confirm I have been the victim of several intimidation incidents, but the St. Joseph County Police Department and the Indiana State Police are working diligently to get to the bottom of it,” Rogers said in a statement. “I would like to commend and thank the St. Joseph County Police Department and the Indiana State Police for their timely response and assistance during this investigation.”
