A new piece of legislation introduced in the Indiana Senate aims to clamp down on college sports betting.
Senate Bill 120, authored by Senator Andy Zay, would prohibit betting vendors from accepting proposition bets from collegiate athletes in the sport they play.
Proposition bets are wagers on specific in-game events, not the final score.
The bill, which has been referred to the Senate Public Policy Committee, would also impose stiff fines of up to $10,000 on any college athlete who attempts to place such a bet.
