Option for shifting years of Indiana’s city elections advances

The Indiana House Elections Committee members are discussing legislation that would allow cities and towns in the state to move their elections to even-numbered years.
The proposal, which was endorsed by a House committee, follows a previous unsuccessful attempt to shift municipal elections to presidential election years.
Authors of the bill say it aims to provide more options for local election scheduling.
