Yakym backs bill protecting funding for Pregnancy Resource Centers

U.S. Rep. Rudy Yakym (R-IN-02) criticized Democratic efforts to block federal support for pregnancy resource centers during a House Ways and Means Committee markup this week. Yakym delivered personal remarks in favor of the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act, legislation aimed at preserving access to federal funding for such facilities.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Michelle Fischbach (R-MN-07), would ensure pregnancy resource centers remain eligible to receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds. Supporters say the measure would allow states to continue directing TANF dollars toward organizations that offer medical care, parenting classes, and material resources such as diapers and formula for expectant and new parents.
Republicans on the panel argued the legislation is needed in response to Biden Administration proposals that would restrict the use of TANF funds for pregnancy resource centers and steer funding toward facilities that provide abortion services.
The committee debate highlighted broader partisan divisions over social services and reproductive health policy. The bill continues to move through the House legislative process.

So one of the arguments I have heard from the “pro choice” crowd is. Poor women don’t have the means to go to doctors during pregnancy. Then after the child is born. They can’t afford to support the child. Now we have a bill in congress that addresses this. Providing funding for centers that provide support during and after pregnancy. And the democrats are against it!! This is EVIL. Pure and simple!
