Heart health advocates were at the Statehouse on Tuesday, urging lawmakers to save Indiana’s school A-E-D requirements.
Under House Bill 1004, a vote on Wednesday, could repeal the law passed just last year that mandates defibrillators and emergency plans at school events.
The American Heart Association says these tools increase survival rates seven-fold during cardiac emergencies.

How many emergencies have these required devices been used in? If the number is approaching zero then it would make sense to remove the requirement. I’m sure they are not cheap and you can probably follow the money through those advocating they be mandated.
