Indiana Senate advances cancer drug bill to Indiana House

Advanced cancer patients in Indiana may soon get faster access to life-saving drugs.
The House Insurance Committee has passed House Bill 1114, which would ban the practice known as “step therapy” or “fail first.”
Author Cherrish Pryor says the bill ensures patients receive the treatment their doctors prescribe immediately, rather than being forced to try cheaper alternatives first.
The bill now heads to the full House for further consideration.
