A South Bend man will spend more than 21 years in federal prison for methamphetamine distribution.

30-year-old Santiago Ortiz-Ruvalcaba was sentenced after pleading guilty to five counts of distributing 50 grams or more of meth.

Federal prosecutors say Ortiz-Ruvalcaba sold methamphetamine on five occasions between November 2023 and January 2025.

During one transaction, they say he also sold fentanyl and two firearms.

A search of his home uncovered drug paraphernalia, ammunition and a handgun. Authorities say  he has prior felony convictions and gang ties.
