The Portage Township Trustee Office is partnering with Ladder Up to offer free tax filing services to northern Indiana residents.

Beginning in February, one-on-one tax filing sessions will be available at several locations, including the Charles Black Community Center, Notre Dame campus, St. Joseph County Public Library and more. Residents can bring their paperwork and required documents to receive help filing their taxes.

Ladder Up services are available through early April 2026.

The program uses IRS-certified undergraduate and graduate student volunteers, ensuring privacy, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Residents are encouraged to register online and check the website for the most up-to-date information.
