Congressman Tim Walberg is inviting high school students in Michigan’s 5th District to take part in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition.
This year’s theme is “America 250,” in recognition of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary in 2026. Students are asked to create artwork reflecting the country’s history, symbols, values or important moments.
The winning piece will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel at the U.S. Capitol alongside artwork from other districts across the country.
Walberg says the competition gives young artists a chance to showcase their creativity while reflecting on America’s storied history.
Submissions must follow the “America 250” theme and come from high school students within the district.
