A North Webster man is facing felony charges following allegations of sexual assault involving a minor.
Austin Dickerson, 33, was arrested Thursday and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on preliminary charges of rape – when the victim has verbally or otherwise refused – and sexual misconduct with a minor, according to reporting by the Times-Union.
The charges stem from a report made earlier this month to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office regarding an alleged assault at Dickerson’s home in North Webster.
According to charging documents, the minor told investigators she went to Dickerson’s home, where he allegedly took her cell phone and repeatedly told her to be a “good girl” and that she was safe. Court documents state Dickerson allegedly provided the minor multiple alcoholic beverages and made sexual advances.
The probable cause affidavit alleges the minor told Dickerson to stop and attempted to resist. She later reported blacking out and falling asleep. According to court documents, she later awoke and discovered she had vomited on her clothes.
Investigators allege Dickerson later returned the minor’s phone, asked what she remembered and thanked her for the previous night.
A preliminary bond was set at $50,000 surety and $500 cash. A judge also issued a no-contact order between Dickerson and the alleged victim.
