Crystal Springs Cemetery sees damage as snow melts

Warm weather is revealing damage at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor.
Several headstones were found knocked over after months of heavy snow. City officials say snowplows may have pushed snow onto the stones, or plow blades may have gotten too close.
The city’s public works department is now reviewing the damage. If the city is found responsible, officials say repairs will be covered.
The issue is expected to be discussed at next week’s cemetery board meeting.
