An Elkhart woman charged with burglary after stealing from a home her son was hired to mow has been sentenced.

Police say 34-year-old Antaysha Curry arranged the lawn job through a Facebook post. The homeowner returned about 40 minutes later to find the yard partially mowed and Curry leaving the house.

Inside, several items were missing, including a PlayStation 4 Pro, a Chromebook, hygiene products, and change jars. When confronted, Curry allegedly told the homeowner she shouldn’t have left the door unlocked. The Goshen News says the stolen items were later recovered.

Curry was sentenced to six years, to be served through Michiana Community Corrections, with three years suspended to probation.
